Shatt?do Sukai? ), released in PAL territories as Ace Combat : Distant Thunder, is really a semi-realistic flight simulation developed by Namco to the PlayStation 2 video game console. It‘s the first inside the Ace Combat series to become released to the PlayStation 2.

It‘s sometimes advantageous to purchase / sell different combinations of planes & weapons with respect to the mission requirements outlined inside the briefing, as some planes tend to be more suitable than others for certain missions. Once all the mission objectives are complete, the player is awarded bonus money for performing above and beyond the requirements from the mission objectives (neutralizing extra targets and assorted enemy fighters, etc. ). In an effort to purchase all planes and weapons available inside the game, the overall game should be completed more than once.
Ace Combat 04 introduced two new additions : radio chatter and anime-style cutscenes during which a man (who is that the grown-up version from the little boy inside the cutscenes ) reads a letter (addressed towards the player ) of his memories from the Continental War, played over still images.
