9 Kelebihan Android dibandingkan iOS
Alasan kenapa memilih android - Android dan iOS merupakan sistem operasi paling populer saat ini. Android adalah sistem operasi terbuka milik Google, sedangkan iOS adalah sistem operasi buatan Apple yang ditanam pada iPhone, iPad, dan iPod Touch.
Sebenarnya masih ada sistem operasi mobile lain seperti Windows Phone, BlackBerry OS, Symbian, namun sistem operasi tersebut tertinggal jauh jumlah peminatnya dibandingkan Android dan iOS. Meskipun demikian, hingga saat ini Android tetap sebagai sistem operasi mobile yang paling banyak digunakan di dunia. Tentunya itu terjadi karena Android memiliki beberapa keunggulan dibandingkan saingannya, iOS.
Keunggulan Perangkat Android dibandingkan iPhone
1. Layar yang lebih besar
Ponsel berbasis Android memiliki ukuran layar yang variatif, antara 3 inci hingga 7 inci, bahkan untuk tablet bisa sampai 10 inci. Sebagian besar perangkat Android yang dirilis memiliki diagonal layar lebih dari 4 inci dan terus berkembang karena Android dikembangkan oleh banyak sekali vendor ponsel yang saling bersaing membuat perangkat bersistem operasi Android, sehingga model ponsel Android sangat bervariasi.
Sementara itu, iPhone hingga saat ini hanya memiliki dua ukuran layar, yaitu 3,5 inci yang diterapkan pada iPhone generasi pertama hingga 4S, dan 4 inci yang diterapkan pada iPhone 5. iPhone hanya dikembangkan oleh Apple, karena itu perkembangannya pun tidak secepat Android.
Untuk ukuran layar, Android jelas lebih unggul dibandingkan iPhone.
2. Dukungan terhadap SDCard
Hanya ada 4 pilihan kapasitas yang tersedia pada iPhone, yaitu 8GB, 16GB, 32GB, dan 64GB. Keempat kapasitas tersebut adalah harga mati karena iPhone tidak menyediakan slot SDCard. Artinya, pengguna tidak bisa menambahkan kartu memori untuk memperbesar kapasitas perangkat.
Mayoritas perangkat berbasis Android dilengkapi dengan slot SDCard. Sehingga apabila kapasitas penyimpanan internal perangkat Android penuh, pengguna dapat menambahkan kapasitas penyimpanan ekstra dengan memasukkan SDCard ke slot memori eksternal.
3. Bisa ganti baterai
Desain unibody iPhone memang terlihat lebih elegan, namun desain ini membuat komponen baterai tidak bisa dibongkar pasang. Artinya, apabila ada kerusakan pada baterai, penggantian harus dilakukan di service center Apple.
Sebagian besar perangkat Android menggunakan baterai yang mudah dibongkar pasang, walaupun ada namun hanya sebagian kecil yang menggunakan desain unibody yang membuat baterai para perangkat tidak mudah dilepas.
4. Kustomisasi homescreen dengan widget, aplikasi, dan wallpaper animasi
iOS, sistem operasi yang digunakan pada iPhone memiliki pakem sendiri. Pengguna tidak bisa menambahkan shortcut aplikasi, widget, atau wallpaper bergerak. Berbeda dengan Android yang memberikan kebebasan untuk melakukan semua itu.
5. Aplikasi peta digital yang lebih baik
Jika iPhone memiliki aplikasi peta digital Apple Maps, Android memiliki Google Maps yang dapat menampilkan data lebih akurat dibandingkan aplikasi peta digital buatan Apple tersebut.
6. Android menggunakan charger USB standar
iPhone 5 hadir dengan port charger yang berbeda dari generasi pendahulunya, dari 30 pin menjadi hanya 8 pin. Hal ini sangat merepotkan jika pengguna memiliki beberapa perangkat smartphone, karena harus membawa lebih dari 1 charger.
Berbeda dengan perangkat Android yang kebanyakan menggunakan charger standar, micro USB. Pengguna hanya perlu membawa satu charger untuk mengisi daya berbagai jenis ponsel.
7. Sinkronisasi data Google yang sangat mudah
Pengguna Android cukup menginput 1 akun Google mereka ke ponsel dan semua fitur layanan dari Google sudah bisa dinikmati. Sementara itu, pengguna iPhone harus memasukkan data akun satu per satu ke tiap layanan Google.
8. Sistem operasi open source
Pengguna dapat ikut serta mengembangkan Android, juga membuat aplikasi maupun game. Berbeda dengan iPhone yang merupakan hak paten dari Apple.
